Oil on canvas board
Framed
47 by 38 cm.
Frame size 73 by 53 cm.
Alex is an artist based in Cambridge, known for creating timeless and evocative artwork with oil paint on canvas board. Over the years, Alex has built a presence both nationally and internationally, with paintings featured in a variety of esteemed collections, interior design stores, galleries and online exhibitions. Notable clients include Daniel Clifford of Midsummer House in Cambridge to Matt Hranek from The William Brown Project in New York.
"My technique involves a deliberate exploration of brush strokes and colour to suggest texture within the observed subjects. The softness of a peach’s skin or the roughness of a woody stem are brought into being, through the subtle manipulation of paint. Through this collection, I hope to inspire viewers to pause and reflect on the quiet beauty found in the everyday. These paintings offer not just a visual experience, but a sensory one—combining the familiarity of kitchen staples with the depth of emotional resonance, evoked through careful study of light and texture. The juxtaposition of simplicity with complexity will hopefully create a lasting impact on those who would like to engage with the work."
